IceCaps invite Alex Wall to training camp

The Telegram is reporting that the IceCaps have invited Alex Wall – a 20 year old defenceman from the Goulds – to their training camp in September.

From the Telegram:

A five-foot-11, 185-pounder, Wall had six goals and 43 assists for the Quebec Remparts in 2010-11. His 49 points put him in the top 10 of scoring among QMJHL blueliners and his plus-42 ranking was third-best among the league’s rearguards.

Sounds promising. Let’s hope he can crack the lineup and add some more local talent to a developing roster.

If Wall isn’t part of the plans with the IceCaps after camp, he has an option to attend the University of Prince Edward Island and play with the CIS Panthers.

IceCaps camp begins on September 27th. The team will host their regular season home opener on October 14th, meaning they will begin the season on the road.
